THE CHURCH CLOCK Many Barlborough residents noticed that for months the church clock was stuck at around ten minutes to six, and for some the absence of the regular striking of the time was disappointing. In June professional clock menders were called in from Derby, and they got it going again. For a week or so all seemed well, and for one neighbour at least, the sound of the strike of quarters and hours once again gave a welcome rhythm to the work of her gardening day. Sadly the repair was not permanent, and once again the clock is out of order, awaiting yet more radical repair work.
