The position of Rector of this parish has been vacant for well over a year,

BUT AN APPOINTMENT HAS BEEN MADE.

The new Rector moved in to the rectory in April, and was inducted and installed to the benefice on the 30th, ready to begin her ministry here.
She is the Revd. Bryony Taylor, formerly assistant curate at Houghton -le-Spring, Diocese of Durham.

St James Choir
is widely respected around the Derby diocese, and is open to new singers with or without previous experience of choral singing. Juniors and tenors are especially welcome. (If you don't know what range your voice falls into, the director of the choir will be happy to advise you).

Barlborough Heritage Centre

Discover the History of your Church and Village. The centre holds lots of documents and photographs, including a graveyard index. 

The Centre is at The Old Victorian School House, 1 Ward Lane, Barlborough. S43 4JD Telephone 01246 810100 and is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays 9.00am-1.00pm, and Saturdays 9.00am-12.00

Heritage Centre

Barlborough Heritage Centre is helping local people complete their family tree. Heritage Project Manager Tony Bak has many years of experience and has many successes. It does not matter if your family did not originate from Barlborough. The Heritage Centre is a facility for the whole community to use and has access to many resources. We have created a small Local Studies Library with comfy seating area where you can sit and browse. There is full disabled access plus parking. Tony is available Tues and Thursday 8.30 till 11.30 and Saturday 9am till 12 noon. The Heritage Centre is run as a charity and admission is Free. We hold an excellent photo archive.
